  1. 1. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Colin Potter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 2. 2. Customer trust in connection with anew method of vertical farming: instore farming : A quantitative analysis in Sweden.

    Magister-uppsats, Jönköping University/HLK, Globala studier

    Författare :Müller Dominika Emília; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In a world where food security is always a topic and an important factor which is involved bygovernments, international organizations and other stakeholders, it is important to talk aboutfood production. As it seems there is a need for sustainable agricultural methods to relieve thetension which is on the unsustainable conventional farming methods. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Plant performance in controlled environment agriculture, the effect of different ebb and flow irrigation intervals on Brassica oleracea and Lactuca sativa

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Laurens Post; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Brassica; Controlled-environmental Agriculture; Ebb and flow; Hydroponics; Irrigation interval; Kale; Lactuca; Lettuce; Plant factory; Vertical farming;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing productivity in controlled environment agriculture may decrease environmental footprint and increase profitability of food produced in a vertical farm. Irrigation may be a limiting factor when it comes to plant performance and relevant research is limited. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Riskhantering i Animalieproduktion : hur hanterar integrerade grisproducenter risker kopplade till verksamhetens insatsvaror & personal?

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Economics

    Författare :Carl Wejsfelt; Oswald Mörk; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Integrerad grisproducent; Risk; Riskhantering; Beslutsprocess;

    Sammanfattning : Världsläget idag med kriget i Ukraina, hög inflation och höga räntor har haft en betydande påverkan på det svenska lantbruket. Bristen på råvaror har satt större press på svenska bönders produktionsresultat samtidigt som det har gjort deras produktion väsentligt dyrare och därmed likviditeten sämre. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Effects of temperature on germination and juvenile growth in Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.)

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Crop Production Ecology

    Författare :Gabriel von Rosen; [2022]
    Nyckelord :indoor farming; vertical farming; hydroponics; spinach; seed germination;

    Sammanfattning : As the worlds urban population grows more and more every year, it becomes increasingly important that cities become more self-sufficient on food. Indoor vertical hydroponic farms offer a solution to this by placing the farm in an urban environment and growing plants in a controlled environment. LÄS MER
