Sammanfattning: In Sweden there are a relatively large amount of studies about BBIC and social workers experiences of the assessment framework. The previous studies show us that BBIC, not only, has contributed to a positive work for social workers in their practical work with children and adolescents. The study intends to investigate social workers experiences of the implementation of BBIC, and experiences of the assessment framework in the practical work with children’s investigations. The empirical material has been collected through qualitative interviews with social workers in the Social Services. The study shows us that the social workers do find the fundamental idea of BBIC to be necessary and positive. However, our collected material indicates that social workers often find that BBIC has contributed to time pressure and increased administrative work as it is described as comprehensive and time consuming. Our social workers also experienced a reduced contact with clients after the implementation of BBIC. This poses the question about clients participation in their investigations, which BBIC is meant to increase, and if it has increased or not when the social workers experiences less time for meetings with their clients. BBIC as an assessment framework is also meant to increase legal certainty in the investigations. This will be questioned as the result shows us that our social workers experience a large flexibility in interpreting the investigation, depending on which social worker who writes it and in which municipality the client lives. We could not see any importance of in which municipality the social workers were employees and how they answered the questions. The most important conclusion our study shows us is that the assessment framework defects in its ability to be adapted in the Social Services. This might have led to the experiences of BBIC being more negative among the social workers in our study.
