Kommunen, idrottsrörelsen och det sociala kapitalet : Östersunds kommuns samröre med IFK Östersund 1965–1978

Sammanfattning: The Swedish model was constructed on the idea of corporatism. In the welfare state that the social democratic government where building, the sport movement played a considerable part. Through sport the citizens, in their leisure, where fostered for their role as good, productive members of the community. This was achieved by teaching them democracy, giving them the right spirit of solidarity and keeping them mentally and physically healthy. Attributes that were determined to social benefit the community. For doing so the government gave financial contribution to the sport movement. By investigating the municipality’s official records and those of the big local athletic club, more specifics about this relationship appeared. This could be connected to thesis about social capital. It becomes clear how high the running authorities treasured the local sport movement, and in which way this was manifested by the especial contribution, above the general contribution. In doing so missing facts in research were filled out.
