På tröskeln till mänsklighetens bästa tid? En analys av moderaternas partiprogram ur ett feministiskt postkolonialt och poststrukturalistiskt perspektiv

Sammanfattning: In this paper I have analysed the Moderate party (the leading and currently reigning Swedish right wing party) party programme. My main purpose has been to elucidate their capitalist/neoliberal discourse on constructing differences between Swedish people and immigrants through a feminist postcolonial and post structural discourse. I have done a thematic analysis of content inspired and organized by the ideas and concept of the post structural theorists Laclau and Mouffe as described by Winther and Phillips (2007). I have identified “swedes” (“svenskar”) and “immigrants” (“invandrare”) as being the organizing distribution of meaning and showed the different and often contradictory discourses they are built up on and how they are justified. I have also tried to place this in a bigger context to show what consequences this could have for the defined different and for the construction of an imagined Swedish culture. From a postcolonial feminist view I have focused on the construction of identification, differences and alikeness, the ignored social and economic implications for differentiation and the impact of race and racism in the discourse. I have shown how the discourse of the Moderate party contributes to a well-established political discourse on the problems on immigration and the upcoming xenophobic movements in Sweden today.
