Awareness of personal responsibility and motivation for lifestyle change increased when participants found out about their prediabetes. Support and information from healthcare were of significant importance for the individual's life adjustment, while lack of individualized information constituted an obstacle for the individual to influence his or her state of health. The individual’s social network and socio-economic condition could both be an obstacle and a support when implementing healthier lifestyle habits. Conclusion: The fact that the participants found out that they had prediabetes was described as valuable and crucial in order to be able to implement lifestyle changes. When performing lifestyle changes, a tailored support is requested by people with prediabetes. Consideration of the individual's own conditions and knowledge of factors that can constitute both support and obstacles for the individual in the implementation of lifestyle changes are of crucial importance.
