Sammanfattning: The Friends report spreads knowledge about bullying and harassment in the Swedish school. According to Friends, 25% of the students in grade F-3 are worried that they will be alone in the schoolyard when they are on a recess. 28% of the students in grades 3–6 answer that they feel lonely at school. 16% of the students in grades 6–9 feel lonely during their school days. The overall purpose is to gain knowledge about social exclusion in children's relationship building at the after-school educare center and try to understand from the students' perspective why there are students who are excluded. The after-school center is a white spot in research. The after-school center is in some parts a free arena for the students 'social relationships and activities, but also a guide in how the students' time can be used. The students 'conditions regarding choice for activities are governed by the educators' need for control of routines for the activity. This means that the opportunities for relationship building are conditional. The students' main goal is to create togetherness and fellowship with certain children, this includes exclusive and inclusive actions. The children should be seen as competent, they can express themselves, present and reflect on themselves and with the ability to socialize. The method we chose to use were qualitative interviews where 10 students participated in the study. Many students said that they sometimes want to be alone, at the same time a couple of students said that when their friends are home, they choose to be alone instead of looking for new friends. Regarding being denied access, it emerged that the majority had experiences such situations and the majority agreed that this was not an positive experience, on the contrary, negative. When asked the question of how the students go about when someone is excluded from play at the after-school educare center or schoolyard, they answered that they invite them to play, with a great awareness that this is how it is done. That the students should exclude someone to protect their free time and decide who you want to spend time with is a very sensitive topic to discuss with the students. At the same time, the majority related that everyone should be allowed to join the social group, with what we came to the conclusion was that there were several nuances of exclusive and inclusive practice and that the students used different strategies.
