Sammanfattning: Title: Key to a Successful Employee: Loyalty and Motivation Seminar date: 2021-01-14 Course: FEKH19, Business Administration: Bachelor’s degree Project in Strategic Management,Undergraduate level, 15 credits Authors: Rebecca Grahn, Victoria Lundgren, Fanny Nabseth Advisor: Devrim Göktepe-Hultén Keywords: Short-time work allowances, covid-19 pandemic, loyalty, motivation, Principal- agent Theory, Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory, entertainment industry Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the loyalty and motivation of employees can be maintained during short-time work allowances caused by the covid-19 pandemic. Theoretical perspectives: The theoretical framework consists of the Principal- agent Theory,Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory, X- and Y-theory and the theory about constructive relations supported by complementary theories and articles. Methodology: The study takes root in a qualitative cross-sectional study of an abductive character. A Questionnaire with 92 respondents as well as a semi-structured interview with a restaurant owner was used as the research instruments. Empirical foundation: The empirical framework initiates with secondary data where previous research within the area is presented. Afterwards the answers from the questionnaire with the 92 respondents perceived changes due to short-time work allowances are lifted. Finally the semi- structured interview with Henrik Wolff who is a restaurant owner at Sue Ellen and Cliff Barnes is presented to reflect the employers perspective. Conclusion: The analysis shows that an implementation of the strategic decisions of short-time work allowances demands that these are adapted to the organisation's situation. Pervasive it is out of great importance that the employer acts out of a balanced level when it comes to the parameters surveillance and responsibility. Furthermore the analysis argues that the aspects direkt response and constructive relations have a good influence on the motivation and loyalty of employees.
