Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Sociologiska institutionen

Sammanfattning: This study aims to explore the conditions and challenges faced by centralized HR departments in the public sector in establishing trust among employees within their organizations. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research takes the form of a case study utilizing a semi-structured interview approach. The study adopts an abductive approach with a hermeneutic perspective. Five employees from a municipal administration within the public sector were interviewed, including three employees at different hierarchical levels and two from the HR department. The results of the interview study reveal variations in employees' trust toward HR and their tasks based on their level of presence within the organization. Overall, trust in the HR department among the interviewed employees is either positive or neutral. A common theme among all interviewees emphasizes the significance of HR presence for trust-building. The lack of HR department presence contributes to negative stereotypes, impacting trust adversely.
