Anpassningsförmåga i Uppsala kommuns översiktsplanering : En kvalitativ studie med autonoma fordon som exempelfall

Sammanfattning: This qualitative study examines urban resilience of Uppsala municipality’s urban planning, considering “disturbances” such as new technologies. With concepts of urban resilience, such as adaptability and theory around path dependency the planning process of the comprehensive plan of Uppsala is analysed. Urban form phenomenon such as densification and urban sprawl are at present time being discussed as future effects of implementation of autonomous vehicles. Autonomous vehicles are posing as an example of new technology within this study to make the concepts more tangible, and to show the importance of adaptability within the planning process. Results show that Uppsala, in theory, has potential for adaptability. An awareness of path dependency within the planning process can also be identified. Furthermore, possibilities and difficulties of autonomous vehicles in relation to the comprehensive plans are also distinguished. Comprehending this knowledge, along with planning adaptability creates beneficial conditions to implement the technology in the municipality in a desirable manner.
