1. Mercury accumulation in lake sediments on different time scales – the influence of algal primary production
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : The aim of this work is to test the proposed approach of algal scavenging as a driver of sediment mercury (Hg) on different time scales and to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of Hg accumulation in lake sediments. A 3000-year sediment record from Nylandssjön in northern Sweden was analysed for this purpose, as well as a 20-year sediment record from the seasonal sediment traps of this lake. LÄS MER
2. In Situ and Ex Situ Study of Nanoparticles Stability and Transformation in Simulated Aquatic Natural Media
3. Reducing cadmium emissions to water during removal of electrostatic precipitator ash : Investigating the effect of process parameters on the formation and precipitation of insoluble cadmium salts in water solutions
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)Sammanfattning : The removal of electrostatic precipitator (ESP) ash by solving the ash in water constitutes an environmental problem if heavy metals, such as cadmium, present in the ash remain in the outgoing effluent streams. The ESP ash solution is alkaline, meaning cadmium is present as the insoluble salt Cd(OH)2, cadmium hydroxide. LÄS MER
4. Kadmiumhalter i svensk tång
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik (kandidat); Lunds universitet/Livsmedelteknisk högskoleutbildning - YTHSammanfattning : Seaweed along the Swedish coast contains both proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals, and could be part of the food supply of the future. It could also be described as climate smart as seaweed does not need to be watered, fertilized, or take up land for cultivation. LÄS MER
5. Recovery of Cobalt and Copper from Zambia Slag via Sulphidisation with Gypsum
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : The main objective of this research was to recover copper and cobalt from slags coming from copper processing on the Copperbelt province of Zambia. Pyrometallurgical processing of copper sulphide concentrate generates huge tonnes of slag wastes. LÄS MER
