1. Characterization of Cu-mineralized carbonate veins in the Alta-Kvænangen Tectonic Window, Norway
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurserSammanfattning : The Alta-Kvænangen Tectonic Window is part of a regional greenstone belt that formed around 2.3 Ga – 2.0 Ga. The Bergmark anticline in the area has gone through greenschist to amphibolite facies metamorphism and hosts Cu, Co and Au mineralizations in hydrothermal veins, albite felsite and chemical traps. 2. High-Temperature Thermal Energy Storage for Innovative Hybrid CSP/PV Plants : A Comprehensive Design Optimization
Master-uppsats, KTH/EnergiteknikSammanfattning : By means of a literature review, critical parameters in the context of thermal energy storage systems, particularly packed bed thermal energy storage systems are identified. The goals of this thesis project are to come up with an optimized design for a PBSTES and to evaluate the thermal performance of alternative storage materials derived from byproducts of industrial processes and natural rocks in order to reduce the environmental impact of the designed system. 3.
4. CO2 Sequestration by Bio-Accelerated Silicate Weathering
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Human-caused emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases are an established reason for the climate changes that affect planet Earth. Negative emission technologies (NETs), for example, bio-accelerated silicate weathering bioreactors, seek to capture and store carbon from the atmosphere. LÄS MER
5. Future Imaginaries of Negative Emission Technologies and Folklore Myths in Icelandic Basalt: Provisional Order Emerges from the Possible Magma in the Age of ‘Hauntology’ and Broken Time
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; Lunds universitet/HumanekologiSammanfattning : Why do we in the Western part of world today tend to believe in technology’s mythical promises rather than in folklore myths? Imaginaries of the future influence political subjects’ actions in the present and play a key role in composing the trajectory towards the future. I have critically applied this notion to the implementation of negative emission technologies in the climate-neutrality strategy. LÄS MER
