   Sammanfattning : The discourse used by Iván Duque and Nicolás Maduro when dealing with the topic of Colombian migration reform Estatuto Temporal de Protección, which grants Venezuelan migrants in Colombia temporary refuge through legal regularization, differ significantly in how they portray the migratory situation of the region, as well as in the way that the two politicians present themselves. Two speeches given close to the announcement of the reform, one by Iván Duque and one by Nicolás Maduro, have in this investigation been compared and analyzed, leading to the following conclusions.    Sammanfattning : This thesis is structured as a feminist creative endeavour, a practice of self-love that aims at exploring (my) depression as a cultural and social phenomenon caused mainly by an inability to correctly embody swedishness, a constant haunting of a colonial and Colombian past, and the affective dimensions of language. This text is based on autoethnographic material about the experiences of being a Colombian-born migrant in Sweden and uses mainly affect theory and decolonial theory to make sense of these experiences.
