  1. 1. IŻ SWÓJ JĘZYK MAJĄ! An exploration of the computational methods for identifying language variation in Polish

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för filosofi, lingvistik och vetenskapsteori

    Författare :Maria Irena Szawerna; [2023-06-19]
    Nyckelord :language variation; Polish; diachronic linguistics; part-of-speech tagging; lemmatization; corpus linguistics;

    Sammanfattning : Computational approaches to language variation continue to contribute in a relevant way to various fields, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and linguistics. Being able to accommodate variation within natural language increases the robustness of NLP models and their usefulness in real-life applications; simultaneously, detecting and describing variation and trends that govern it is one of the main goals of sociolinguistics and historical linguistics, meaning that some of the advances in NLP can contribute to these fields as well. 2. 2. Analysis of Mutable Game Environments Built on a Tetrahedral Mesh : Tetras, a Potential Alternative to Voxels

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Noah Tell; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Voxels; Tetrahedron; Tetrahedral Mesh; Tetrahedralization; Tessellation; Mutable Environment; Editable Terrain; Deformable Environment; Boolean Operations; Real-Time; Computer Games; Computational Geometry; Voxlar; Tetrahedror; Tetrahedralisering; Tessellering; Formbar Terräng; Booliska Operationer; Realtid; Datorspel; Beräkningsgeometri;

    Sammanfattning : Historically 3D game environments have almost always been immutable. Mutable environments are a technical challenge that will affect performance. For games of the future to continue approaching realism, mutable environments are an essential step. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optimizing Resource Allocation in Kubernetes : A Hybrid Auto-Scaling Approach

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Brando Chiminelli; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Cloud computing; Microservices; Kubernetes; Container Orchestration; Auto-Scaling; Horizontal Pod Autoscaler HPA ; WorkloadPrediction; Time-Series Forecasting; Molntjänster; Mikrotjänster; Kubernetes; Containerorkestrering; Automatisk Skalning; Horizontal Pod Autoscaler HPA ; Förutsägelse avArbetsbelastning; Prognoser för Tidsserier;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on addressing the challenges of resource management in cloud environments, specifically in the context of running resource-optimized applications on Kubernetes. The scale and growth of cloud services, coupled with the dynamic nature of workloads, make it difficult to efficiently manage resources and control costs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Evaluation of Ferroelectric Tunnel Junction memristor for in-memory computation in real world use cases

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Författare :Alec Guerin; Christos Papadopoulos; [2023]
    Nyckelord :FTJ; Ferroelectric Tunneling Junction; Analog in-memory computing; AIMC; Memristor; A.I.; AIHWKIT; Semantic segmentation; Natural Language Processing; NLP; Neuromorphic Computing; Matrix Vector Multiplication; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Machine learning algorithms are experiencing unprecedented attention, but their inherent computational complexity leads to high energy consumption. However, a paradigm shift in computing methods has the potential to address the issue. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Optimal Multitaper Spectrograms

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Markus Ydreskog; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Time-frequency analysis; Multitaper spectrogram; Optimization; Wigner distribution; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : Multitaper spectrograms have been proposed as a method of improving the spectrogram as a time-frequency representation (TFR). This thesis aimed to investigate both previously used and new methods for combining multitaper spectrograms of a Gaussian signal and a chirp. LÄS MER
