  1. 1. Integrating Local Knowledge into the Spatial Analysis of Wind Power: The case study of Northern Tzoumerka, Greece

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Athanasios Senteles; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Geographical Information Systems; MCDA; wind energy; local knowledge; Greece; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing demand for incorporating renewable energy projects into the national energy mix, is associated with international and European efforts to tackle the negative effects of climate change and strengthen energy resilience. Greece, as a member country of the European Union, has acknowledged that necessity, by implementing a national program aiming to significantly reduce Green House Gas Emissions and upscale Renewable Energy Sources (RES) project development in upcoming years. 2. 2. KEY FACTORS FOR SUCCESS IN CONTESTED GREEN PROJECTS

    Magister-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

    Författare :Francisco Soto Fernández; [2023-06-28]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to understand why non-polluting energy facilities in Europe are not always well accepted notwithstanding their positive effect on greenhouse gas reduction and their contribution to transforming the EU into a thriving society, as intended by the European Green Deal. The thesis draws on public acceptance theory and has been conducted as a two-step Case Study, namely, the deployment of renewable energy facilities in La Rioja, a Spanish region wherein two waves of wind and solar energy plants – during the 2000s and the 2020s – have enjoyed very different degrees of public support. 3. 3. The urban cure : design with local landscape dynamics

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Lilja Will; [2023]
    Nyckelord :landscape architecture; landscape as a medium; landscape urbanism; process based design; eco-social services; shrinking city; post-industrial revitalisation; sustainable urban planning;

    Sammanfattning : The worlds cities are currently facing challenges related to climate change, resource loss, poverty, social inequality, and technological disruptions. Sustainable urban planning is crucial, especially with the increasing global population and urbanization. Cities are the vital organs that determine the growth and further development of a region. 4. 4. Utbredningen av grönstruktur och grön infrastruktur inom Stockholms län : En jämförande spatial analys

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Felicia Engman; Ester Kortekaas; [2022]
    Nyckelord :green infrastructure; urban planning; biodiversity; grönstruktur; grön infrastruktur; regional planering; biologisk mångfald;

    Sammanfattning : Ekosystem med hög biodiversitet bidrar med många ekosystemtjänster i samhället och skapar motståndskraft mot klimatförändringar samt naturkatastrofer. Men globalt är den biologiska mångfalden hotad och anses vara en av de planetära gränserna som ligger i riskzonen att utlösa eventuellt irreversibla tröskeleffekter. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sustainable development of on-shore wind power : integrated landscape character assessment as a tool to improve assessment of on-shore wind power in southern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Diego Mascareño Suarez; [2022]
    Nyckelord :wind power; landscape democracy; ; ArcGIS; european landscape convention; ; landscape actors; land use conflicts;

    Sammanfattning : To meet the increasing demand of renewable energy and move from the fossil-fuel economy, Sweden aims to expand the onshore wind power production from 30 TWh today, to 80 TWh by 2040, with a strong expansion in Southern Sweden aiming to complement the infrastructure implemented in Northern Sweden. The implementation in Southern Sweden has created growing conflict as landscapes of cultural, ecological, and social importance try to accommodate this new energy landscape. LÄS MER
