21. Modelling and Simulation of Hydrogen Electrolyzers for Power System Applications
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : The rapid increase in the share of intermittent renewables in the energy mix is exacerbating the complexity of the grid stability. To facilitate the inclusion of these green technologies and achieve the climate targets set by the EU, the generation and storage of hydrogen through electrolysis may be crucial. LÄS MER
22. Financial viability of producing hydrogen in windfarms in the Nordic region
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för elektroteknikSammanfattning : With the perspective of a growing hydrogen market that responds to the energy sector requirements for a carbon-free fuel and/or storage method, analyzing the financial viability of producing green hydrogen in the Nordic region is of great importance to understand the possibilities of local supply and the role that the strongly present wind industry can have in it. Additionally, the possibility of the construction of a dedicated hydrogen pipeline connecting Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and possibly other countries in the Nordic area, changes the previously analyzed scenarios of only local demand, close to production; incorporating this infrastructure into the simulations will shed light upon the possibilities for a Nordic hydrogen market. 23. Evaluating electrolyser setups for hydrogen production from offshore wind power : A case study in the Baltic Sea
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : As part of the transition towards a fully sustainable energy system, green hydrogen shows great potential to decarbonise several hard-to-abate sectors. To provide the fossil-free electricity required for electrolysis, offshore wind power has emerged as a suggested option. LÄS MER
24. Future Imaginaries of Negative Emission Technologies and Folklore Myths in Icelandic Basalt: Provisional Order Emerges from the Possible Magma in the Age of ‘Hauntology’ and Broken Time
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; Lunds universitet/HumanekologiSammanfattning : Why do we in the Western part of world today tend to believe in technology’s mythical promises rather than in folklore myths? Imaginaries of the future influence political subjects’ actions in the present and play a key role in composing the trajectory towards the future. I have critically applied this notion to the implementation of negative emission technologies in the climate-neutrality strategy. LÄS MER
25. One more turn and I can develop gene modified plants : Technologial development & climate change representation in board games
Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för informationsteknologiSammanfattning : Alongside societal change and more sustainable living, new technologies and research will be important in becoming carbon neutral. Multiple modern board games have some form of technological progression and research in their theme, presented by game mechanics like “tech trees”. LÄS MER
