  1. 1. Control Aid Implementation -Modelling and simulation of triple extruder-

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Karl Langsér; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Machine Learning; Extruder; Modelling; Simulation; Extreme learning machine; Chemical engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : In the production of their High Voltage Direct Current Cables (HVDC) and High Voltage Alternating Current Cables (HVAC), NKT uses triple extruders to create layers of insulation and semi-conduction. A model to predict the effect of extruder inputs on the cable’s insulation and semi-conducting layers has been created and trained to predict the extruder in discrete time. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Investigation of charge injection at electrode-dielectric interface relevant for HVDC cables : Simulation of charge injection and transport dynamics in electrical insulation for HVDC cables

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad mekanik

    Författare :Mohammed Mosa; [2023]
    Nyckelord :BCT model; charge injection; space charge density; electric field distribution; Fowler-Nordheim; Richardson-Schottky;

    Sammanfattning : A bipolar charge transport (BCT) model is used to simulate charge injection and transportdynamics inside insulation material which are used in a high voltage direct current (HVDC)cable. Gaining knowledge about space charge density and electric field distribution in theinsulation material enables minimising charge injection at the metal-insulator interface andavoiding unnecessary energy loss. 3. 3. Review and Design of DC Electrical Field Measurement Systems and Related Developments : For Measurements Around HVDC Cable Terminations

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Emil Bergvall; [2023]
    Nyckelord :DC Field Probe; Measurement Systems; Electric Fields; Cable Termination; Ion Drift; Conductivity; HVDC; Field Mill; Field Simulations; Positioning System; MEMS; Electro-Optics; DC Fält Prob; Mätsystem; Elektriska Fält; Kabelavslut; Jondrift; Ledningsförmåga; HVDC; Fältkvarn; Fält Simulationer; Positioneringsystem; MEMS; Elektro-Optik;

    Sammanfattning : With power generation and consumption placed further away from each other, with for example increased offshore power production, the need for HVDC transmission systems increases. As voltage levels in the HVDC transmission system are raised, the losses can be decreased, enabling efficient power transfer over longer distances. LÄS MER

  4. 4. First principles DFT study of polyethylene insulation containing chemical impurities - implementing counterpoise correction

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Max Pierre; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Applied physics; HVDC cable; Polymer physics; Polyethylene; Density functional theory; Molecular dynamics; CP2K; GROMAC; Electron traps; Band gaps; Density of states; Tillämpad fysik; HVDC kabel; Polymerfysik; Polyeten; Täthetsfunktionalteori; Molekulärdynamik; CP2K; GROMACS; Elektronfällor; Bandgap; Tillståndstäthet;

    Sammanfattning : Density functional theory (DFT) calculations of polyethylene (PE) HVDC cable insulation have been performed for systems containing four different chemical impurities: acetophenone, cumene, $\alpha$-methyl styrene and $\alpha$-cumyl alcohol. Systems were generated by molecular dynamics (MD) equilibration at four different temperatures relevant for cable insulation applications: 277 K, 293 K, 343 K and 363 K. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The Paris Agreement stipulates that the participating countries and areas agree to work toward limiting the global average temperature increase “to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels” (The United Nations, 2015).
