  1. 1. Optimization and Characterization of Luminescent Materials for the ESS Proton Beam Imaging System

    M1-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Författare :Emelie Wiklund; Anton Järild; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Chemical Engineering; Luminescent materials; Cr-doped Alumina; Proton Beam Imaging System; ESS; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Spallation sources such as European Spallation Source (ESS) produces neutrons by bombarding high-energy protons onto the target wheel. To determine the location of the proton beam a Proton Beam Imaging (PBI) system will be installed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Provenansstudie av detriala zirkoner från ett guldförande alluvium vid Ravlunda skjutfält, Skåne

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Nyckelord :Ravlunda Skjutfält; tungmineral; zirkon; Skåne; guld; LA-ICP-MS; provenansstudie; Haväng; mineraljakten; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : 2014 höll Sveriges geologiska undersökning (SGU) tävlingen ”Mineraljakten” med syfte att engagera allmänheten och utöka förståelsen kring hur olika metaller och mineral används i vår vardag. Till tävlingen kom det in ett fynd av vaskguld från Skåne som premierades med fjärde pris för den ovanliga fyndplatsen. LÄS MER

  3. 3. High Accuracy Relative Luminescence Quantum Yield Measurements of Upconverting Nanoparticles

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Atomfysik

    Författare :Björn Thomasson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Upconverting Nanoparticles; Biomedical imaging; Luminescence tomography; Luminescence imaging; Engineering; Physics; Engineering Physics; Photonics; Cancer; Cancer detection; Cancer diagnostics; Laser Engineering; quantum yield; imaging; upconverting; Biophotonics; Single Point Tomography; Relative Luminescence Quantum Yield Measurements; Energy transfer upconversion; Nanoscience; Luminescence; Imaging of biological tissue; Upconversion; Beam profile evaluation; Beam profile; UCNP; UCNPs; Nanoparticles; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The name Upconverting nanoparticles refers to a novel category of luminescence emitters that are capable of generating visible luminescence upon excitation with noncoherent and longer wavelength monochromatic near-infrared light, at excitation fluence rates as low as 1-103 W/cm2. This unique optical behaviour is of great interest to researchers as it could potentially allow for virtually autofluorescence free luminescence imaging of living tissue. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Development of an Upconverting Nanoparticles Quantum Yield Measurement System

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Meng Li; [2016]
    Nyckelord :UCNPs; upconverting nanoparticles; QY; quantum yield; fluorescence; luminescence; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Fluorescence imaging is a growing biomedical technique; it can be used to localize the luminescent biomarkers inside the tissue. Lanthanide-doped upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are promising luminescent probes for multiple applications in biophotonics. They allow acquiring autofluorescence-free recordings with high spatial resolution. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Three-Dimensional Quantitative Cerenkov Luminescence Imaging

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Atomfysik

    Författare :Anton Ajne; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Cerenkov; CLI; Optical imaging; Nuclear medicine; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Cerenkov luminescence imaging (CLI) is an up-and-coming optical technique for in vivo imaging of beta-emitting radioisotopes. CLI relies on measurements of the Cerenkov radiation emitted when high-energy beta-particles travel through tissue. LÄS MER
