  1. 6. Multistressors Related to Climate Change and Their Effects on Global Biodiversity during the Cenozoic Age

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Författare :Robin Mårtensson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :multistressors; biodiversity; paleontology; Paleocene; Eocene; Oligocene; Miocene; Pliocene; Pleistocene; sea level; deep ocean temperature; sea surface temperature; carbon dioxide; foraminifera; ocean circulation; Cenozoic; paleoceanography; climate change; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : As multistressors have been shown to have significant effects on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, the following study was made with the purpose of examining how a number of stressors specifically connected to climate change may have varied during the latest 65,5 million years and whether it is possible to predict potential effects on global biodiversity in the future. The analyses focused on global species richness during the Cenozoic age along with variables such as variations in atmospheric CO2, sea surface temperatures and global sea levels derived from analyses of various stable isotopes found in marine sediments. 2. 7. Paleoglaciological study of the Ahlmannryggen, Borgmassivet and Kirwanveggen nunatak ranges, Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica, using WorldView imagery

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Taisiya Dymova; [2018]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Paleoglaciological reconstructions based on glacial geological and geomorphological traces are used to test and constrain numerical models of ice sheet extent and dynamics. MAGIC-DML (“Mapping, Measuring and Modelling Antarctic Geomorphology and Ice Change in Dronning Maud Land”) project is trying to reconstruct the timing and pattern of ice surface elevation changes since the mid-Pliocene across western Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica. 4. 9. A geophysical survey (TEM; ERT) of the Punata alluvial fan, Bolivia

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Joakim Mårdh; [2017]
    Nyckelord :electromagnetic; geophysics; TEM; Punata; alluvial fan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Punata alluvial fan, situated in central Bolivia (Valle Alto) between the Altiplano and the lowlands, is an important aquifer for the local rural population. Due to rapid development and population growth in the area, the demand for fresh water has increased in recent year. LÄS MER
