  1. 1. FPGA Based Control of Multiple Electric Machines for Marine Propulsion Systems

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Simon Weideskog; [2024]
    Nyckelord :FPGA; Field Oriented Control; BLDC; SVPWM; SMO; Electric Drives; Electric Machines; Sliding Mode Observer; Marine Propulsion; Multiple Machines; Boat Motor; Fältorienterad styrning; marin framdrivning; elektriska drivsystem; elmaskiner; flertal maskiner; båtmotor;

    Sammanfattning : This master thesis addresses the control of electric propulsion motors in a marine context. The focus lies mainly on the implementation of field oriented control (FOC) in a field programmable gate array (FPGA). The hypothesis is that FPGAs provide performance advantages over microcontroller-based control solutions by enabling parallel processing. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Relationship between Fatigue Properties and Surface Treatment of Aluminum Alloy

    H-uppsats,

    Författare :Umair Ali Khan; Soroosh Zahedi; [2023-09-14]
    Nyckelord :Corrosion resistance; Fatigue; Aluminium alloys; HPDC; PMC; Sheet Metal; Anodization Molding; Casting;

    Sammanfattning : Corrosion has posed a significant challenge within the maritime sector for numerousyears. In the 21st century, bolstering the corrosion resistance of alloys, particularlyaluminum alloys, has become paramount. Aluminum alloys find widespread use inpropulsion systems, boat hulls, and cargo vessels. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Benchmarking a 1 kW hybrid hydrogen fuel cell system

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Författare :Jonathan Envall; [2023]
    Nyckelord :PEMFC; fuel cell; UAV; hybrid; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's) offer great versatility in the tasks that they may perform and they are today used in many sectors. The H24LEO project, administered by the Lund University School of Aviation, aims to develop and demonstrate a hybrid proton-exchange membrane fuel cell-powered UAV to aid in search and rescue operations performed by the Swedish Maritime Administration, and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions compared to similar work performed by helicopters. 4. 4. Vacuum Chamber Adaptation for Low-Power Electric Propulsion Testing : Optimizing Anode Configuration and Electrical Interface for Hollow Cathode Testing, and Conceptualizing a Setup for Field Emission Electric Propulsion Testing

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Therese Bäckström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Electric Propulsion; Field Emission Electric Propulsion Testing; FEEP Testing; Thruster Testing; Heaterless Hollow Cathode Testing; HHCTesting; Cathode Testing; Anode Design; Anode Configuration; Electrical Interface; Elektrisk Framdrivning; Fältjonisationsframdrivningstestning; Framdrivningstestning; Värmelös Hålkatodstestning; Katodtestning; Anoddesign; Anodkonfiguration; Elektriskt Gränssnitt;

    Sammanfattning : Electric Propulsion (EP) is widely acknowledged as a crucial technology for future space missions, offering significant propellant savings and enabling exploration of planetary missions with smaller spacecraft (s/c). For precise attitude control of these smaller spacecraft, Field Emission Electric Propulsion (FEEP) has emerged as a favorable option due to its exceptional thrust controllability. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Conceptual design of the next generation gas turbines : Modelling of a hybrid electric mixed turbofan for a trainer aircraft

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Författare :Sophia Fisher; Michael Åkerström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hybrid propulsion; mixed turbofan; parallel configuration; performance;

    Sammanfattning : To mitigate climate change, all sectors must contribute their part. Electric propulsion system is a promising approach to reduce emissions from the aviation industry. A major challenge is however the low energy density in today’s battery technology. LÄS MER
