  1. 1. Experimental studies of radiation damage in uranium nitride

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Maria Giamouridou; [2023]
    Nyckelord :uranium nitride nuclear fuel; advanced nuclear fuel; uranium nitride fabrication; uranium nitride characterisation; Spark Plasma Sintering; proton irradiation; irradiation damage; TANDEM accelerator; irradiation induced cracking; irradiation induced hardening; irradiation induced swelling; hydrogen implantation; dislocation loops; kärnbränsle av urannitrid; avancerat kärnbränsle; tillverkning av urannitrid; karakterisering av urannitrid; Spark Plasma Sintering; protonbestrålning; strålningsskador; TANDEM-accelerator; strålningsinducerad sprickbildning; strålningsinducerad härdning; strålningsinducerad svällning; väteimplantation; dislokationsloopar;

    Sammanfattning : The effect of proton (H+) irradiation on uranium mononitride (UN) and UN compositefuel with 10 at.% ZrN (UN10at%ZrN) was examined. Protons of 2 MeV with fluences of1E17, 1E18, 1E19 and 1E20 ions/cm2 were accelerated towards the fabricated samples in orderto investigate the evolution of the micro-structure. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ray Tracing Algorithm for Dielectric Domes

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Maria Pubill; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Array antenna; dielectric dome; Ray-Tracing; reflection; absorption losses; matching layers; Arrayantenn; dielektrisk kupol; strålföljning; reflektion; absorptionsförluster; anpassningsskikt;

    Sammanfattning : Almost hemispherical scanning capabilities are required for modern wireless communication systems to produce broad coverage without performance degradation. Phased array antennas are commonly used as a fully-electronic beam-steering solution for its rapidity in beam switching. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Beyond Traditional Tomography: X-ray Multi-projection Imaging for Additive Manufacturing

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Maria Esther Vilar Alvarez; [2023]
    Nyckelord :X-ray tomography; X-ray multiprojection-imaging; deep learning; additive manufacturing; synchrotron radiation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to push the limits of 3D X-ray imaging by studying the minimum number of projections required to retrieve high-quality reconstructions for additive manufacturing processes. This project first focuses on understanding how X-ray tomography works, by reconstructing additive manufacturing data already obtained (from PSI, TOMCAT beamline) using two standard reconstruction algorithms, GRIDREC and SIRT. 4. 4. Image analysis on the structure of the Achilles tendon

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Författare :Linnea Andersson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :biomechanics; Achilles tendon; image analysis; image processing; tendons; synchrotron; computed tomography; phase contrast; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The Achilles tendon is the largest tendon of the human body which makes injuries of it very painful and incapacitating. A common factor of the pain are heterotopic ossifications, which are mineral deposits occurring inside the normal tendon tissue. Why and how heterotopic ossifications occur are somewhat unknown. 5. 5. Assignment of heteronuclear methyl-NMR spectrum of the 44 kDa protein MALT1 Casp-IgL3

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Maria Levkovets; [2022]
    Nyckelord :MALT1; NMR; methyl-NMR; protein NMR; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1 (MALT1) plays an important role in the immune pathway that controls the activation and proliferation of B and T cells. Dysregularization of this pathway leads to the development of highly aggressive lymphomas. LÄS MER
