  1. 11. Top-down cost assessment and market regulatory conditions affecting BESS feasibility in the Spanish framework : Exploring the viability of utility-scale stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Systems in Spain

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Pere Abelló Sunyer; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Battery Energy Storage Systems BESS ; Regulatory framework; Operational optimization; Economic viability;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis report provides a comprehensive analysis of the regulatory landscape governing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Spain and offers insights into their operational optimization and economic viability. The study centers on a 40 MW BESS and explores three distinct case studies, each representing varying system durations (one, two, and four hours) and two different electricity price scenarios (2019 and 2022). 2. 12. Evaluating electrolyser setups for hydrogen production from offshore wind power: A case study in the Baltic Sea

    Master-uppsats,

    Författare :Kenzo Franzén; [2023]
    Nyckelord :electrolysis; energy systems modelling; green hydrogen; offshore wind power; power-to-x; electrolisis; energía eólica marina; hidrógeno verde; modelado de sistemas de energía; power-to-x;

    Sammanfattning : As part of the transition towards a fully sustainable energy system, green hydrogen shows great potential to decarbonise several hard-to-abate sectors. To provide the fossil-free electricity required for electrolysis, offshore wind power has emerged as a suggested option. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Biogas Potential in the North of Sweden : Inventory and Techno-Economic Assessment of Substrates for an Increased Biogas Production in Norrbotten

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Alma Fahlén Hammar; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Biogas; anaerobic digestion; AD; Norrland; bioenergy; fossil-free; chemical engineering; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Great investments are planned in the north of Sweden the coming years, not the least in the county of Norrbotten where the projects collectively are referred to as the green transition due to the focus on fossil-free techniques. But to be able to secure a sustainable energy supply and reach the goal set by the member states of the European Union of a carbon dioxide neutral union in 2050 the production of alternative energy sources needs to intensify. 4. 14. Integration of an industrial heat pump for a TES-based power-to-heat system : A techno-economic assessment

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Cristian Contreras Aramayo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Heat; electricity; industrial heat pump; power-to-heat;

    Sammanfattning : This work aims to investigate the potential electricity savings, as well as the potential decrease in LCoH and OPEX, that an integration of an industrial heat pump can have on a molten salt-based power-to-heat system with integrated thermal energy storage. The original system uses an electric heater to heat up molten salt, which acts as the heat transfer fluid of the system, from which heated steam can be produced and delivered at the output. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Techno-economic analysis and design of the charging infrastructure for Electric Heavy Vehicles in Oskarshamn

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Joan Cassany Espinosa; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Electrification; decarbonization; freight transport; heavy duty vehicle; battery electric truck; charging infrastructure; business model assessment; Elektrifiering; avkolning; godstransport; tunga fordon; batterielektrisk lastbil; laddinfrastruktur; affärsmodellsbedömning;

    Sammanfattning : Within the most pollutants industries, the energy sector is the most significant contributor to climate change, representing two-thirds of the total Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. One of the main responsible for these emissions is transportation, which accounts for 26% of the world’s energy consumption, with crude oil-derived products providing more than 90% of this energy.
