The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that 700,000 people worldwide die each year as a result of antibiotic resistance, and this number is projected to rise to 10 million per year by 2050 if no action is taken. This study was made in a collaboration with the bread company Pågen, who wants to reduce the added sugar, sucrose, to meet the recommendations from WHO and the consumer's wishes for less sugar in bread.
