  1. 11. Transformer-Based Multi-scale Technical Reports Analyser for Science Projects Cost Prediction

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Thomas Bouquet; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Natural Language Processing; Transformers; Deep Learning; Cost Prediction; Traitement Automatique du Langage; Transformers; Apprentissage Profond; Prédiction de coûts; Behandling av naturligt språk; Transformers; Djupinlärning; Kostnadsförutsägelser;

    Sammanfattning : Intrinsic value prediction is a Natural Language Processing (NLP) problem consisting in determining a numerical value contained implicitly and non-trivially in a text. In this project, we introduce the SWORDSMAN model (Sentence and Word-level Oracle for Research Documents by Semantic Multi-scale ANalysis), a deep neural network architecture based on transformers whose goal is to predict the cost of research projects from the analysis of their abstract. 2. 12. A metabolic analysis of Menorca during the 2020 lockdown using the Multi-Scale Integrated Analysis of Societal and Ecosystem Metabolism approach

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Oscar Martín Carles; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Sustainable Development; metabolic analysis; MuSIASEM; COVID-19; Menorca; island;

    Sammanfattning : The COVID-19 pandemic forced many countries to put forth severe lockdown restrictions in order to stop the spread of the virus. Spain was one the most affected countries in Europe, and its non-essential socio-economic activities faced strict restrictions in the free movement of people. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Groundwater Inflow into Fractured Rock Tunnels

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Mariam Beydoun; [2022]
    Nyckelord :groundwater inflow; rock tunnel; discrete fracture networks; discrete fracture-matrix; equivalent porous medium; Darcy’s Law; Reynold’s equation; cubic law; grundvatteninflöde; bergtunnel; discrete fracture networks; discrete fracture-matrix; equivalent porous medium; Darcy’s Law; Reynolds equation; cubic law;

    Sammanfattning : Groundwater inflow is a challenge in construction of tunnels in fractured bedrocks since it affects the safety function of tunnels and leads to potential problems in the surrounding environment, such as subsidence, dropdown of the groundwater table. Quantification of groundwater inflow into the tunnel is also important for design of grouting in the construction of the tunnel. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Diversity patterns and composition of wild bee communities (Hymenoptera: Anthophila) in Swedish boreal forests under different management regimes

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Jaime Ramón Luna Santa-María; [2021]
    Nyckelord :wild bees; Anthophila; forest management; functional diversity; landscape ecology; inventory diversity; boreal forest;

    Sammanfattning : Intensive forest management has led to forest homogenization with associated changes to biodiversity. Compensatory actions have been taken to counteract the negative effects of these practices on biodiversity, but the effectiveness of these actions depends both on which scale they are evaluated and the group of species they are addressed to. 5. 15. Modelling solar access at the window level of buildings – a case study for urban densification simulations in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Kendall Hartman; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem analysis; CityJSON; 3D City Model; solar energy; solar urban planning; sustainable urban development; NS building; Geomatics; Earth and Environmental Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Buildings are a are a major consumer of energy in urban areas. The use of solar energy in buildings can help reduce CO2 emitting energy consumption in these urban areas. One way to use solar energy is through passive solar energy systems. Passive solar energy systems allow a building to use daylight as an energy source. LÄS MER
