  1. 1. Profitability During a Sustainability Transformation - A Case Study of a Swedish Petroleum and Biofuel Company

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Michael Crona; Filip Linnér; [2023-02-27]
    Nyckelord :This report examines the financial profitability of a petroleum and biofuel company during their sustainability transformation. The case company is Preem AB; the largest fuel company in Sweden. The study finds that debt-to-equity ratios tend to increase with investments in more sustainable solutions. This could propose a higher financial risk to the firm. The report also proposes and discuss the use of metrics for CO2- emission that are easier to understand than just the weight of the gas emitted. Preem does not seem to benefit from being part of the European Union’s Emissions Trading System ETS ; since their green investments are focused on reducing emissions in the use phase of their products; not in the production phase; which is what the ETS measures and rewards. The case study is based on an interview with a director at Preem to get an insight to the green investments. Data for financial- and environmental performance are collected from official reports published by Preem.;

  2. 2. FTIR mätningar av absorptionsvätskor i Bioenergy Carbon Capture and Storage processer

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Kemiteknik

    Författare :Isa Pettersson Haag; Emma Hedberg; Oliver Svahn; David Danielsen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :BECCS; FTIR; carbon dioxide; carbonate; bicarbonate; PCA;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of global warming are well understood. In order to combat this, society must move towards net zero emissions of green house gases, where carbon dioxide (CO2) plays a key role. In several IPCC climate scenarios that meet the Paris agreement, negative emission technologies that effectively remove CO2 from the atmosphere are included. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Techno-economic analysis of large-scale production of e-methanol, via CO2- hydrogenation, in Power-to-X

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Författare :Jonathan Ahlbäck Ikonen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Power-to-X; E-methanol; Hydrogen Production; CO2-hydrogenation; Methanol Synthesis; Decarbonisation; Chemical Engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Global levels of carbon emissions are constantly rising causing irreversible damages to ecosystems. The heavy transport sector and the industrial sector are responsible for large amounts of the emissions on a yearly basis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sustainable Urban Energy Transition for the City of Bitola, North Macedonia : A City-Scale Urban Building Energy Model

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)
