  1. 11. Planet migration in evolving protoplanetary discs

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Linn Eriksson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Planets and satellites: formation; Protoplanetary discs: evolution; Planet-disc interactions; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The rate of migration and accretion onto protoplanets is greatly influenced by the structure of the surrounding protoplanetary disc. This structure changes with time as the disc evolves on a million year timescale, implying that the process of planet formation might look very different depending on when it was initiated. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Giant planet formation around HR8799

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Dan Wallsby; [2017]
    Nyckelord :HR8799; Planet formation; Protoplanetary disks; Giant planets; Astronomy; Migration; Dynamics; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In the thriving field of exoplanet research new discoveries are made all the time, and while most of the observed systems can be explained with classical planet formation models - some are much harder to explain. When stars form they are often surrounded by the remaining material of the nebulae they formed from. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Engineering Nature under Climate Change – Implications of Assisted Migration on Sustainable Development in Mountain Ranges

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Katelin Markcrow; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Sustainable development; assisted migration; climate change; biodiversity; mountain ranges; ethics; debate;

    Sammanfattning : The Planet has entered a new epoch - the Anthropocene; where human activities, such as mining for and burning of fossil fuels, land-use change, and industrialization are actively disrupting the planet’s state. The rate at which climate change is occurring as a result of human activity is unprecedented in recent millennia and poses many threats through drastic changes in rain fall patterns, rising sea level, retreating glaciers, and an increase in extreme weather events. 4. 14. Solar System analogues among exoplanetary systems

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Maria Lomaeva; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Over the past two decades many discoveries of exoplanets have been made, which have drawn much attention to extrasolar planetary systems. In this work we study the composition of these systems and search for analogues of the Solar System. We considered the planets in the database at exoplanet.eu. LÄS MER

  5. 15. The Giants and their role in Ragnarök

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Fran Bartolic; [2015]
    Nyckelord :exoplanets stellar evolution tides planet engulfment; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Observed population of giant planets around evolved stars shows a paucity of planets with semi-major axes below 0.5 au, in contrast to main sequence stars where those planets are present. LÄS MER
