In line with this purpose, the study investigates how the two schemes are compared to each other with respect to (1) the frameworks that guide the induction, (2) the processes involved, and (3) the outcomes reported. Methodology: As only a few studies have examined SFC in Japan and have not used the TPB framework, this study adds to the body of literature, and proposes luxury orientation, fashion involvement, and idol attachment as barriers toward sustainable fashion (SF) purchase intentions in Japan. Theory: This thesis takes its theoretical outset from a sociocultural perspective, focusing on analytical concepts such as the Zone of Proximal Development, Scaffolding and the Initiation – Response – Evaluation for understanding teaching practices.
