1. Life extension of welded steel details in bridges
Master-uppsats, KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanikSammanfattning : High-Frequency Mechanical Impacts (HFMI) is a surface treatment technique utilized to introduce residual stresses and extend the service life of structures. This project primarily focuses on studying the life extension effects of HFMI on welded structures that have undergone fatigue and have existing cracks. LÄS MER
2. Simulation and Experimental Based Hardenability Evaluation of Chromium Alloyed Powder Metal Steels
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : Powder metallurgy is a branch of metal forming technology where metal powders are used to manufacture parts and components. It is a flexible and economical technique for manufacturing complicated shapes. This present work focuses on press and sinter technology and forms a part of Höganäs’s efforts of modelling hardenability through quenching. LÄS MER
3. Innerytans inverkan på utmattningshållfasthet i bergborrstänger
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskapSammanfattning : Top hammer drilling uses a percussive force at the top combined with a rotational energy that transmits through a rod to a drill bit that crushes rock. It is a drilling method that is preliminary used in mining, construction and operations under ground. Fatigue strength plays an important role in the drill rods life span. LÄS MER
4. Implementering av höghållfast stål i byggbranschen : Analys av hur höghållfasta stålkonstruktioner kan appliceras för byggnadstekniska verk: fördelar, risker och användningsområden
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknikSammanfattning : Purpose: The purpose of this study has been to investigate the essentials of being able to incorporate high-strength steels (460 MPa and beyond) for structural elements in buildings. As of late, structural steels with a yield point of 355 MPa have been considered standard and have been for the past decade. LÄS MER
5. Development of a Method to Measure Residual Stresses in Cast Components with Complex Geometries
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : Cast iron, taking the advantages of the advanced castability forming components of complex geometries and favorable mechanical properties, is employed in engine components in truck industries. Compacted graphite iron (CGI) integrates both merits of lamellar graphite iron (LGI) and spheroidal graphite iron (SGI) such as good machinability and high thermal conductivity from LGI, high ultimate tensile strength (UTS), good fatigue resistance, high elastic modulus, and high ductility from SGI, thus is now becoming a competitive alternative of traditional LGI in cylinder blocks and heads.
