21. Optimization of PCR protocols used for genotyping transgenic mice & Evaluation of a method for co-detecting mRNA and protein
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Uppsala universitet/Jämförande fysiologiSammanfattning : The aim of the current study was divided into two separate goals, (i) optimization of a number of PCR-based protocols employed for genotyping transgenic mouse lines and (ii) evaluating a protocol for co-detection of mRNA and its correlated protein in the mouse midbrain. The optimization was performed on PCR protocols for genotyping the following transgenic mouse lines; Dat-Cre, Vglut2-Lox, Vglut2-Cre and Vmat2-Lox. LÄS MER
22. The Function of FoxB During Limb Development and Axis Formation in the Spider Parasteatoda tepidariorum
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Arthropods are the most diverse and speciose group of animals on the planet. A key factor in their success is the adaptation of various appendages to new functions and environments, resulting in radically different morphologies. To understand this diversity, it is important to study the underlying genetic mechanisms. LÄS MER
23. Arthrogryposis in calves
Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Anatomy, Physiology and BiochemistrySammanfattning : Arthrogryposis is a common congenital malformation in cattle and it affects the limbs through fibrosis of the joints leading to fixation. This is due to paralysis of the fetus because of alkaloid toxicosis in the pregnant dam during gestation day 40-70. When the fetus cannot move, the fibrosis develops in the joints and the extremities are fixated. LÄS MER
24. Using Optogenetics and Fictive Locomotion to Investigate the Effects of Inhibiting Renshaw Cells on Normal Locomotion in P3 Mice
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : The circuit of recurring inhibition between motor neurons and Renshaw cells in the spinal cord has been known for around 70 years, though no determined function has been outlined as of yet. Renshaw cells are thought to be part of the central pattern generator in the spinal cord establishing them as an important part of the animal’s locomotive properties. LÄS MER
