“Varför gråter ni?” : En sociologisk analys av tjejers psykosociala välbefinnande

Sammanfattning: This narrative literature review aims to present a general picture of the increasing mental ill- health related to stress among young women, connected to the development of society. The analysis is performed by examining scientific articles using gender theory and sociology as a theoretical background. The complex of problems surrounding mental ill-health, as well as possible causes for it, are discussed from perspectives on the individual, the group and society. This essay also considers possible remedies for the school environment, where the problems presented are fairly common, as well as actions on a structural level which may lead to a more gender equal society, and in the end result in higher mental well-being.
