Spansklärares förhållningssätt till ämnesrelaterad kompetensutveckling : En kvalitativ intervjustudie utifrån den ”ensamma” spansklärarens perspektiv i grundskolan

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to deepen the knowledge of how Spanish teachers in the Elementary School relates to subject-related competence development in the absence of colleagues who teaches the same subject. To support our research, we chose to implement a qualitative method, more precisely, the semi structured interview. To answer the research questions four Spanish teachers were interviewed which resulted in the conclusion that teachers learn with and from each other but having colleagues that teaches the same subject at one’s workplace is not a condition for competence development but desired by the teachers. There are also divided opinions about if their situation as a “lonely” Spanish teacher is challenging or not. The result showed that the teachers turn to other colleagues at the school or others outside of the school. They also attend further education or they conduct self-study to develop as teachers of Spanish. Surprisingly no teacher mentioned collegial learning as the method of their competence development, which is what the Swedish National Agency for Education advocate.
