#METOO ÄR BARA FÖR KVINNOR? En kvalitativ studie om mäns attityder till och användning av #metoo

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Socialhögskolan

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to get a deeper insight into men’s attitudes and experience regarding their understanding of the sexual harassment or abuse they have endured. The study also aims to understand men’s point of view in using #metoo to share their experience of sexual harassment or abuse. I have conducted four qualitive interviews with men on a virtual site which extends to the LGBT community. Through the interviews I have conducted and gained a deeper understanding and account of my purpose of the paper by using Erving Goffman’s concept of stigma and Raewyn Connell’s idea of hegemonic masculinity. The results of the study indicate that men have difficulties relating to the metoo movement and express that it is only for and by women. Men who have been subjected to sexual harassment or abuse expressed a responsibility for what happened to them, the desire to be able to have been able to do things differently or more when recounting their experiences of sexual harassment.
