Det historiska kubbgolvets konstruktion - en arbetsbeskrivning ur ett hantverkarperspektiv

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

Sammanfattning: This bachelor thesis aims to explain the construction of the historical end grain wood block floors and how it was laid in order to contribute with increased knowledge about the historical end grain wood block floors in general and how such a floor can be laid today. To achieve this, a case study of an existing historical end grain wood block floor is made with a forensic perspective. The case study will then form the basis for further craft trials where theories of construction and laying are tested to determine how this may have been done. Further as a complement to the case study and craft trials, the sand foundation was discussed with a mason. Limitations have been made regarding the examination of the groundwork under the end grain wood block floors and what material that may be most suitable. A further limitation concerns the moist aspect of the floor. Simpler building physics is used and mentioned in the work to explain the conditions in the construction and laying but more in-depth construction physics will not be touched. The case study, the craft trials and the conversation with the mason result in an explanation of the construction of the historical end grain wood block floors. The conclusion of this essay is a work instruction of how a historical end grain wood block floor can be laid today.
