  1. 1. Rituelle og hverdagslige hester: En komparativ stabil isotop studie av hestene fra våtmarken Bokaren og Gamla Uppsala

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antikens kultur

    Författare :Røsseng Eline; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Horses; ritual; everyday; wetland; stable isotopes; diet; mobility; life history; teeth; husbandry practices; Gamla Uppsala; Bokaren;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to expand the understanding of horses from ritual and everyday contexts, respectively, by investigating their diet and mobility. In this thesis, teeth of domestic horse Equus ferus caballus from the wetland Bokaren and central place Gamla Uppsala in Uppland during the late Iron Age (550-1050 A.D) are analyzed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Development of a multi-collector inductively coupled plasma massspectrometry method for measurement of stable sulphur isotope ratios in aerosol sulphate

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Analytisk kemi

    Författare :Katerina Rodiouchkina; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Sulphate aerosol; isotope ratio; sulphur isotope; δ34S and δ33S measurements; MC-ICP-MS; method development; inter-laboratory comparison;

    Sammanfattning : Sulphur stable isotope ratios are useful tracers in geological and environmental studies. They can for example be used to trace the origin of atmospheric sulphate aerosols, because anthropogenic sulphate and natural sulphate have distinguishable δ34S-values (δ34S value of approximately +0 to +8 ‰ for anthropogenic and approximately +12 to +19 ‰ for natural). 3. 3. Behaviour of Boron Isotopes During Magmatic Degassing and Application to B-Rich Volcanic Glassfrom Lesbos, Greece

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Konstantinos Thomaidis; [2017]
    Nyckelord :boron isotopes; volcanic glass; SIMS; magmatic degassing; Lesbos Island; borisotoper; vulkaniskt glas; SIMS; magmatisk avgasning; Lesbos;

    Sammanfattning : Boron is a fluid mobile trace element and is routinely employed as a tracer of slab-derived fluids in subduction zones since the heavy isotope (11B) preferentially partitions into the fluid phase during slab dehydration. However, it has been shown experimentally that boron isotopes (expressed as δ11B) can fractionate by up to several permil (‰) during subsequent magmatic evolution and degassing at high temperature, calling into doubt the fidelity of boron isotopes in volcanic glass as accurate tracers of slab degassing. 4. 4. [87]Sr/[86]Sr in plagioclase, evidence for a crustal origin of the Hakefjorden Complex, SW Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Alexandra Glommé; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Plagioclase; Älgön; Sr-isotopes; Sweden; MC-ICP-MS; Hakefjorden complex; geochemistry; SEM; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The studied intrusion, the Hakefjorden Complex on Älgön is a norite-anorthosite complex situated in the archipelago on the west coast of Sweden. The origin of the intrusion will be deduce through in situ Sr-isotope analysis by MC-ICP-MS (multiple collector- inductively coupled plasma- mass spectrometry) on plagioclase, together with petrographic description and chemical analysis. 5. 5. Zircon U-Pb, Hf and O isotope constraints on the growth versus recycling of continental crust in the Grenville orogen, Ohio, USA

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Andreas Petersson; [2010]
    Nyckelord :zircon; U-Pb; geochronology; Hf-isotopes; O-isotopes; Grenville; crustal growth; North-American craton; zirkon; Hf-isotoper; O-isotopeer; kontinenttillväxt; nordamerikanska kratonen; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Detta arbetet har hanterat sex olika borrkärnor från den Prekambriska berggrunden i Ohio, USA. Denna berggrund är täckt med 800 – 5000 meter av Paleozoiska avlagringar och på grund av detta vet vi väldigt lite om den. LÄS MER
