A single stage partial nitritation/Anammox system in a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) was controlled using oxidation reduction potential (ORP) in order to evaluate its utility as control parameter.     Sammanfattning : This thesis is a response to the request for proposal issued by a joint collaboration between the AIAA Foundation and ASME/IGTI as a student competition to design a new turbofan engine intended for a conceptual supersonic business jet expected to enter service in 2025. Due to the increasing competition in the aircraft industry and the more stringent environmental legislations the new engine is expected to provide a lower fuel burn than the current engine intended for the aircraft to increase the chances of commercial success.
