  1. 36. Skogsstrukturer och dess betydelse för biodiversitet : visat i en gradient av mänsklig påverkan

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Hilda Brynjarsdotter; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Skogsstrukturer; plantage; semi-naturlig skog; naturskog; branddynamik; luckadynamik;

    Sammanfattning : This study was conducted to find out if there are forest structural differences along a gradient of human impact: tree plantation, semi-natural forest, and natural forest. Two, forest areas in the north of Sweden were selected; Kulbäcksliden, which is dominated by mesic to moist spruce forest with gap dynamics, and a forest in the  Eco park Skatan, which due to dry soils historically have been dominated by pine forest and fire dynamics. 2. 37. Effekten av GROT-uttag i föryngrings-avverkning på trädtillväxten och markens produktionsförmåga över tid

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Christofer Roos; Axel Strömberg; [2020]
    Nyckelord :GROT; biobränsle; tillväxt; granskog; förnybar energi; Västerbotten.;

    Sammanfattning : En av vår tids största samhällsutmaning är den pågående klimatkrisen. En lösning på krisen är att ställa om till ett mer biobaserat samhälle. Energibehovet ökar globalt och vår påverkan på klimatet måste minska. LÄS MER

  3. 38. Pine production comparison : production potential of Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) and Slash pine (Pinus elliottii) in the southeastern USA in relation to initial density and forest management

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, SLU/Dept. of Forest Resource Management

    Författare :Åsa Ramberg; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Loblolly pine; Slash pine; Scots pine; management intensity; planting density;

    Sammanfattning : The southeastern (SE) United States (US) produces more industrial timber than any other region in the world. Pine plantations in the southern US have increased from 1.8 million acres (728,400 ha) in the beginning of the 1950’s to 32 million acres (13 million ha) in the beginning of the 21st century, and cover 17 % of the forest land. 4. 39. Who Owns This Jungle? : Landscape Changes, Landownership and Traditional Authority in the Tropical Forests of Western Ghana

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för arkeologi och antik historia

    Författare :Josephine Laursen; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Action-oriented research; Landscape change; Chieftaincy; Ghana; Hermeneutic phenomenolo-gy; Landownership; Landscape history; Local communities; Negotiations; Oral history; Tradi-tional authority; Western Ghana;

    Sammanfattning : In Cocopa and Nopame, two rural communities in western Ghana, changes are both internally and externally driven. Combined with ongoing negotiations of authority, landownership, history, tradition and culture, the interconnectedness of these areas shapes the realities of these communities. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Total carbon sequestration during an entire rotation period of oil palm in northern Borneo

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Josefin Runesson; [2019]
    Nyckelord :oil palm; carbon balance; carbon sequestration; land use change; soil carbon; carbon credits;

    Sammanfattning : Considerable amounts of carbon (C) has been lost from tropical forests as a result of continuous conversion of tropical forests into oil palm plantations. Therefore, a better understanding of the C budget and potential sequestration rate in oil palm plantations and how it compares to natural forests is needed. LÄS MER
