  1. 1. Petrography of impactites from the Dellen impact structure, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Robert Mroczek; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Dellen; Impact; structure; magnetite; apatite; shock waves; shock-metamorphic; features; Impactite; petrography; scanning electron microscope; SEM; geology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Identification and characterization of shock-metamorphic features in hypervelocity impact craters is important for our understanding of how shock waves interact with geologic materials and how impact craters form, which in turn is essential to our understanding of what role impact cratering played in the development of our solar system. Of particular interest are accessory minerals like apatite, which contains various volatiles that can affect the atmosphere of a body, or magnetite whose magnetic properties constitute a remote sensing indicator which allows us to study and understand the internal structures of distant bodies. 2. 2. NH Planetary-Scale Circulation in Troposphere and Stratosphere: A Spectral and Dynamical Perspective

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Michael Konrad Schutte; [2023]
    Nyckelord :jet stream; Rossby waves; polar vortex; spectral analysis; dynamic systems theory; sudden stratospheric warmings; strong polar vortex events; jetström; Rossbyvågor; polär virvel; spektralanalys; dynamisk systemteori; plötsliga stratosfäriska uppvärmingar; starka polvortexhändelser;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamic Systems Theory (DST) and spectral analysis are employed to study the tropospheric jet stream and the stratospheric polar vortex. The objective is to investigate the relationship between Rossby wave activity and inverse persistence and dimensionality of geopotential height at 250 hPa and 10 hPa, as these two dynamical indicators are expected to show a characteristic behavior of Rossby wave harmonics. 3. 3. Design of a 200Gbps externally modulated laser for opto-electronic integration

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Tianyu Jiang; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Optical modulator; Externally modulated laser; Traveling-wave; Electroabsorption; PSPICE; Optisk modulator; externmodulerad laser; Resande-våg; Elektroabsorption; PSPICE;

    Sammanfattning : Segmented traveling wave electro-absorption modulators (TWEAMs) can provide a modulation speed above 100 Gb/s, which is needed in new optical communication networks. In the EU-project TWILIGHT, KTH continues the design work of TWEAMs in the EU-projects IPHOBAC and HECTO with the aim to design a new optical modulator to be integrated with an electronic layer. 4. 4. Nonlinear mode coupling and parametric amplification with superconducting kinetic inductance

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Daniele Lopriore; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Quantum technology; microwave engineering; nanofabrication; parametric amplifiers; multimode entanglement; kinetic inductance; Kvantteknologi; mikrovågsteknik; nanotillverkning; parametriska förstärkare; multimodentrassling; kinetisk induktans;

    Sammanfattning : We investigate the resonant characteristics of superconducting meandering nanowires to design a nonlinear kinetic inductance traveling-wave parametric amplifier. The devices are patterned out of 15 nm thick NbTiN films. They consist of a coplanar waveguide, that shrinks into 100 nm wide meandering nanowires. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Transmission line protection performance in presence of power electronic-interfaced devices : Impact and needed countermeasures in the Swedish transmission system

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Elektricitetslära

    Författare :Hanna Olofsson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The penetration level of power electronic-interfaced devices (PEID:s) in power systems isincreasing, including wind- and solar power, HVDC and FACTS devices. Fault current injectedby PEID:s is lower in magnitude, may lack or contain a reduced negative sequence componentand can have a wide range of phase angles, as opposed to fault current supplied bysynchronous generators (SG:s).
