  1. 1. Gravitational Collapse of a Massless Scalar Field in a Theory of Minimally Modified Gravity

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fysik

    Författare :Atabak Fathe Jalali; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Theoretical physics; astrophysics; modified gravity; minimally modified gravity; gravitational collapse; VCDM; scalar collapse; apparent horizon; numerical relativity; Teoretisk fysik; astrofysik; modifierad gravitation; minimalt modifierad gravitation; gravitationskollaps; VCDM; skalär kollaps; uppenbar horisont; numerisk relativitet;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the spherically symmetric gravitational collapse of a massless scalar field in a minimally modified gravity theory denoted VCDM (V replaces $\Lambda$ in the $\Lambda$CDM abbreviation), a class of theories propagating the same degrees of freedom as general relativity at the expense of broken 4D diffeomorphism invariance. Numerical evolution of the equations of motion reveals that for small initial scalar profile amplitudes, no black hole forms from the collapse. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Data analytics and machine learning for railway track degradation: Using Bothnia Line track measurements for maintenance forecasting

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Väg- och spårfordon samt konceptuell fordonsdesign

    Författare :Elie Roudiere; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Railway; Track geometry; Machine learning; Statistics; Predictive maintenance; Botniabanan; Järnväg; spårgeometri; maskininlärning; statistik; förebyggande underhåll; Botniabanan;

    Sammanfattning : In this paper, a statistical method is developed to improve predictive maintenance on railway track. The problem tackled is being able to predict when the next maintenance event should take place to guarantee a certain track quality class. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Robotic Automation of Mechanical Verification

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Integrerad produktutveckling och design

    Författare :Sofie Gårdestam; Amalia Kronér; [2024]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This master thesis explores the implementation of Collaborative robots into Elekta's mechanical product verification process. Elekta is a pioneer in precision radiation therapy solutions. Ensuring the compliance of Elekta's products with performance, safety, and quality criteria is of great importance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. When Flying is Inevitable : How international companies and business travelers can contribute to the transformation towards a future of sustainable aviation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Industriell ekonomi och organisation (Inst.)

    Författare :Frida Sjöström; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Carbon Neutral; Business aviation; Sustainable Aviation; Sustainable Strategy; Sustainable Aviation Fuel; Hydrogen; Electric; Switzerland; Technology-Push; DemandPull.; Koldioxidneutralt; affärsflyg; hållbart flyg; hållbar strategi; hållbart flygbränsle; vätgas; elflyg; Schweiz; Technology-Push; Demand-Pull;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis emerged from a question that had been repeating itself in my head for a long period of time: If myself and the rest of the world face the fact that we are likely to keep flying for years to come for reasons somehow considered valid, how can we at the same time still contribute efficiently to achieving a more sustainable future of aviation? Based on this dilemma and focusing on the factor of impact, an actor with the power of creating a larger impact than a single individual was firstly identified. This actor also provides the perspective used in this thesis. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Predicting Patent Data using Wavelet Regression and Bayesian Machine Learning

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Författare :Mattias Martinsen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wavelet; Regression; Bayesian network; Prediction; Patent; Machine Learning; Wavelet; Regression; Bayesiskt nätverk; Predicering; Patent; Maskininlärning;

    Sammanfattning : Patents are a fundamental part of scientific and engineering work, ensuringprotection of inventions owned by individuals or organizations. Patents areusually made public 18 months after being filed to a patent office, whichmeans that current publicly available patent data only provides informationabout the past. LÄS MER
