  1. 1. Including Finite Larmor Radius Effects on RF Heating of Fusion Plasmas using Weak-Form Contributions in COMSOL

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Sammanfattning : In a fusion plasma, the ions have to be heated to reach fusion relevant temperatures. One possibility is to launch an electromagnetic wave in the radio frequency band into the plasma. This wave can resonate with the ions at their cyclotron frequency and hence, the method is called ion cyclotron resonance heating. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of Neutral Particle Detector Time-of-Flight Measurement as Dependent on Space and Time in the Environment of Venus

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Författare :Emmanuel Nunez; [2016]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Venus is a non-magnetized planet that possesses a dense atmosphere. These characteristics are common to Mars and Titan and form the fundamental basis for categorizing celestial bodies in terms of how the solar wind interact to their upper atmospheres. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Impact of transformer core size on the reactive power requirement of power transformers due to GIC

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, KTH/Elektroteknisk teori och konstruktion

    Författare :Claudia Bergsåker; [2014]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Geomagnetically induced currents (GIC) are a natural phenomenon which arises due to solar storms. During a solar storm, large amounts of magnetized plasma are ejected from the surface of the sun. When this plasma reaches earth, it causes fluctuations in the geomagnetic field. LÄS MER
