1. Improving the understanding of photoelectron currents on Solar Orbiter : Utilizing theory and empirical measurements
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutet för rymdfysik, UppsalaavdelningenSammanfattning : Spacecraft experience electric currents on conductive materials exposed to sunlight, which introduces noise in scientific data. These currents are mainly due to the photoelectric effect and should therefore be proportional to the inverse square heliocentric distance. LÄS MER
2. How to Rise from Ashes : A Comprehensive Guide to Finally Understand Canonical Quantization and Build Quantum Mechanics from Scratch
L3-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Materialteori; Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för teoretisk filosofiSammanfattning : In this review essay, we account for the historical development of canonical quantization. By a detailed review of The Ultraviolet Catastrophe, The Photoelectric Effect, Compton Scattering, Matter Waves and Bohr's Atomic Model we learn about Old Quantum Theory. LÄS MER
3. PERFORMANCE OF THE PHOTODETECTOR FOR THE ACTIVE SHIELD OF THE COSI SPACE TELESCOPE
Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknikSammanfattning : The COmpton Spectrometer and Imager (COSI) is a space telescope that aims to study the soft gamma regime (0.2-5 MeV), capable of performing spectroscopy, imaging and polarimetry of cosmic gamma sources. 4. Event-based High Resolution X-ray Imaging using Compton Coincidence Detection
Master-uppsats, KTH/Medicinsk avbildningSammanfattning : Research on photon counting detectors (PCDs) is focused on semiconductor materials, and silicon is a strong candidate to use in PCDs for photon counting computer tomography (CT). In a silicon detector, a significant portion of the counts is due to Compton scattering events. LÄS MER
5. Towards the control of photo-ionization with electron wave-packet interferences
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : In this work the photoelectric effect is explored through simulations of the phase shift that an IR-field can induce into an electron wave packet and the photoelectron distribution over frequency components that is produced in the photoionization of an atom with a attosecond pulses made of XUV photons. The IR-field is sent along two attosecond pulses made of XUV photons towards a 3D momentum spectrometer were there is a gas that can be photoionized and the photoelectrons can be measured. LÄS MER
