  1. 1. Measuring the Pulse Duration and the Time-Dependent Polarisation State of Ultrashort Laser Pulses with the D-Scan Technique

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Atomfysik

    Författare :Daniel Díaz Rivas; [2022]
    Nyckelord :pulse characterisation; ultrashort; laser; femtosecond; dispersion scan; polarisation; wave plate; temporal reconstruction; electric field reconstruction; time-dependent polarisation; polarisation gate; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Ultrashort laser pulses with time-dependent polarisation states have many applications, such as the generation of isolated attosecond pulses and the study of the optical chirality of molecules. In this project the polarisation gate, built from two quarter-wave plates of different orders, is thoroughly characterised in experiment and simulation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ferroelectric Gate-Stack on InAs

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Pontus Littow; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : Modern electronics are becoming more powerful and energy efficient for every new process generation. A key component in electronics is the transistor, which has made this trend possible. For many years the transistor has simply been scaled down.However, that is not possible any longer. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Software Development and Qualification Testing of a CubeSat X-ray Monitor

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Författare :Marcus Persson; [2019]
    Nyckelord :embedded software; cubesat; software; firmware; cubes; mist; x-ray; fpga; asic; weeroc;

    Sammanfattning : The CUBES (CUbesat x-ray Background Explorer using Scintillators) is a payload on the KTH student satellite MIST (MIniature STudent satellite) to evaluate Silicon Photo-multiplier technology and new scintillators such as GAGG (Gadolinium Aluminium Gallium Garnet, Gd3Al2Ga3O12) for future use in hard X-ray polarisation studies of Gamma-Ray Bursts. CUBES itself is designed to study the MIST in-orbit radiation environment by using a detector which is comprised of a silicon photomultiplier coupled to different scintillator materials. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Interaction of sublevels in gated biased semiconductor nanowires

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Teoretisk Fysik

    Författare :Henrik Karlsson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :nanowire; spintronics; lateral spin-orbit coupling; asymmetrical confinement potential; spin polarization;

    Sammanfattning : Mesoscopic devices, such as nano-wires, are of interest for the next step in creating spintronic devices. With the ability to manipulate electrons and their spin, spintronic devices may be realised. To that end the different effects found in low-dimensional devices must be studied and understood. LÄS MER
