  1. 1. Examining governance change in wetland restoration. Case: Linnunsuo, Finland

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för tema

    Författare :Laura Maria Valkonen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Co-management; governance change; Linnunsuo; resilience; restoration;

    Sammanfattning : Collaborative governance approaches can advance resilience, equity and effectiveness in the restoration of degraded ecosystems. Often co-management arrangements are not static and should be understood as dynamic process between actors. Yet, management and governance dynamics in restoration are not fully understood. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Spatial patterns of Dissolved Organic Matter in Swedish Surface Waters

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment

    Författare :Anna Lackner; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Dissolved Organic Matter; Brownification; Digital Mapping; Soil Moisture; Stream Length;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved organic matter (DOM) in surface water has been widely studied, in part due to its significance for aquatic ecology and drinking water quality. Across Sweden, increases in the total organic carbon (TOC) concentrations and color of surface waters, known as brownification, were noted in the decades before and after year 2000, though recent analysis has found widespread DOM increase to have ceased after 2010. 3. 3. Hur hänger det ihop? : En hydrologisk detaljstudie av ytvattenkonnektivitet mellan sjöar och vattendrag i Västerbottens län

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Gustav Högberg; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Earth science; Hydrology; connectivity; surface water; highest coast line; GIS-analysis; rivers; river networks; lakes; geovetenskap; hydrologi; konnektivitet; ytvatten; högsta kustlinjen; GIS-analys; vattendrag; vattendragsnätverk; sjöar;

    Sammanfattning : Surface water hydrology is a deeply studied subject, yet there are barely any studies concerning surface water connectivity, neither micro- nor macro scale. With the explosive development of GIS over the past decade, tools for measuring and analysing rivers and lakes are inumerable. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Forest Ditches As Habitat For Aquatic Macroinvertebrate In Boreal Landscapes

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Lara Sánchez Calderón; [2022]
    Nyckelord :aquatic macroinvertebrates; drainage ditches; Sweden; mineral soil; peat soil; forestry;

    Sammanfattning : Large areas of northern Sweden have been ditched to promote forest growth by draining wet soils and peatlands. These ditches have greatly added to length of Sweden’s stream and river network, but the ecological properties of these man-made aquatic environments is poorly understood. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Digitizing and Mapping Channel Heads Across Various Forested Regions in Sweden Using a High-Resolution DEM : A Regional Analysis of How Landscape Properties Influencing Channel Head Initiation

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Amanda Jarefjäll; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Acting as a hydrological link between the terrestrial landscape and the larger downstream river network, channel heads and their immediate headwaters are essential geomorphological features in our landscape. Not only due to their ability to transport water and sediment and cycling of nutrients, but as an important component for ecosystem productivity and aquatic habitats. LÄS MER
