Sammanfattning: United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) from 1989 is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In this paper we want to see how Save the Children Sweden relates to the CRC in their work. The material that has been used to compare and investigate Save the Children Sweden's project the Compass (2008) is their annual reports between 2008 and 2011. Reynaerts (et al.) Critical proponent theory has been used to analyze the material and a content analysis was needed to do so. The result shows that the CRC is embedded in Save the Children's work. The basic principles got most focus and by not using a clear portrayed of CRC’s articles the conventions role becomes more of a frame of reference. The Compass’s goals and working methods became clearer in their annual reports for each year that passed. The key is to have a critical proponent approach against CRC, so that kids can enjoy taking a greater share in their rights, get their voices heard and to get their rights better adapted to their different social conditions.
