Sammanfattning: The construction industry has long been and still is a male-dominated sector. Today, the construction industry faces challenges in meeting its recruitment needs, while female workers have been historically excluded from the industry. Outdated norms within both internal organizational structures and external societal perceptions create obstacles to the recruitment of women. This study has explored how companies in the construction industry are working to recruit more women into the sector and how they are addressing workplace culture. It is not just about hiring a woman; for a woman to thrive in the male-dominated industry, companies must work with the company's values. This study includes individual respondents in various HR roles who can provide insights into how different companies in the construction industry approach recruitment and value-driven work from a gender perspective. The results indicate changes in the industry's culture in the recent years has been important, but it is still crucial to work with values to make employers attractive from a female perspective. Furthermore, there are difficulties in recruiting women with the right professional competence, making it important to proactively engage more women in the industry.
