    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a modelling approach of laser welding process of aluminium alloy from the thermo-mechanical point of view to evaluate the occurrence of hot cracking based on simulation results and relevant criteria. Heat pickup is an unwanted side effect of temperature differences in a car underhood compartment, whereby excess heat is tranferred into the coolant running through the cooling system hoses, affecting its operating temperature.
