  1. 1. Indocyanine-green fluorescence imaging to detect anastomotic insufficiency after esophagectomy

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik

    Författare :Love Kildetoft; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Fluorescence; Imaging; Indocyanine-green; ICG; Esophageal cancer; Physics; Photonics; Image Analysis; Blood Perfusion; Anastomotic leakage; Anastomotic insufficiency; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This research project is concerned with the development of simulation models and image analysis algorithms, as well as instrumentation for characterizing anastomotic leakages after a patient has undergone surgery for esophageal cancer. Anastomotic leakage is a high-incidence complication after esophagectomy, a surgical procedure for esophageal cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vilka läkemedelsframsteg har förbättrat prognosen för HER2-positiv metastaserad bröstcancer? : En litteraturstudie

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för kemi och biomedicin (KOB)

    Författare :Helena Hansson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :HER2; Bröstcancer; Läkemedel;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is one of the deadliest forms of cancers in the world. About 15–30% of all breast cancers are HER2-positive, which involves overexpression of HER2-receptors on the surface of tumor cells. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microfluidic flow splitter shape optimization for high throughput

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Författare :Christoffer Papamoustos Palmér; Joel Linder; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Genetic algorithms; Lab-on-a-chip; Optimization; Acoustofluidics; Microfluidics; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Due to an increasing incidence rate, the need for new effective methods for diagnosing cancer are of high importance. Studies have shown that circulating tumor cells, CTCs, have great potential as a diagnostic biomarker. Acoustophoresis is a label free method, capable of separating CTCs from red blood cells in a blood sample. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Psykosociala behov hos tonåringar och unga vuxna med cancersjukdom : -  en allmän litteraturöversikt

    Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för folkhälso- och vårdvetenskap

    Författare :Anne Gustafsson; Sundström Karin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Adolescents; young adults; cancer; psychosocial needs; psychosocial support; Tonåringar; unga vuxna; cancer; psykosociala behov; psykosocialt stöd;

    Sammanfattning : Bakgrund: Tonåringar och unga vuxna (15–39 år) som insjuknar i cancer möts av emotionella, fysiska och sociala utmaningar. Utöver rädsla för cancersjukdomen kan utbildning och jobb samt den ekonomiska situationen oroa. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Bootstrapping methods for assessing causality in survival analysis: A case study on major adverse cardiovascular events

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Paulina Benthem Ciano; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Causality; Graphical models; Bootstrap; Survival analysis; Additive hazards model.; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : The combination of graphical models with Aalen's additive hazards model, resulting in a model known as dynamical path analysis, permits assessing the effects of different variables on times until an event and decomposing these total effects into direct and indirect effects. This thesis proposes novel bootstrapping methods designed for left-truncated right-censored data, conditional on covariates within the framework of Aalen's additive hazards model, in order to obtain confidence intervals for the estimates.
