  1. 21. Can urban tree re-inventories inform future species selection? : diameter at breast height as an indicator for tree performance in Malmö municipality’s tree database

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Hannah Kit Kraynick Braegelmann; [2023]
    Nyckelord :DBH; ; diameter at breast height; tree inventories; tree re-inventories; urban forestry; species selection; tree management;

    Sammanfattning : Using the inventory database of trees for Malmö municipality, Sweden, this study explored the potential of using the diameter at breast height (DBH) measurement in re-inventories, as a decision-making tool for species selection and management in urban forests. With the escalating pressures of urbanization and unpredictable climate change effects, there is an urgent need for urban forest managers to possess reliable tools that can facilitate the selection of resilient tree species capable of thriving in diverse and changing urban contexts. Sammanfattning : The mediatization of society has gradually led to an increasingly prominent presence of music in our daily lives, a process which Tobias Pontara and Ulrik Volgsten refer to as musicalization. One media platform that has experienced rapid growth in recent years is TikTok, which, with its one billion users, has become a hub for music discovery and distribution. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Bioeconomy Strategy effects in Rural Areas : A comparative study of the Alpine region and Inner Scandinavia

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Kulturgeografiska institutionen

    Författare :John Sudmeier; [2023]
    Nyckelord :bioeconomy; sustainability; agri-food; forestry; ecological farming; EU policy; heritage sensitive marketing;

    Sammanfattning : The European Commission Bioeconomy Strategy aims to stimulate an ecologically sustainable economy to mitigate climate change, declining biodiversity, and as an economic and social strategy meant to provide jobs and stimulate growth. The aim of this research project is to understand how the European Commission Bioeconomy Strategy is being interpreted and implemented in two different rural European regions, Inner Scandinavia, and the Alpine region, and based on those findings discuss how a sustainable bioeconomy strategy can be understood primarily in relation to the ecological sustainability goals of decarbonizing the economy and protecting biodiversity.
