  1. 1. ASSESSING PUBLIC OPINION ON ALGORITHMIC FAIRNESS Reviewing practical challenges and the role of contextual factors

    Master-uppsats, Institutionen för tillämpad informationsteknologi

    Författare :Veronica Kecki; [2023-02-01]
    Nyckelord :AI; artificial intelligence; ML; machine learning; algorithms; algorithmic decision-making; fairness; socio-technical design; AI ethics;

    Sammanfattning : AI ethicists often claim that where algorithmic decision-making is impacting human lives, it is crucial to strive for transparency and explainability. As one form of achieving these, some authors have argued for socio-technical design of AI systems that involves the user in the design process. LÄS MER

  2. 2. DIFFERENTIAL OUTCOME TRAINING AND HUMANOID ROBOT FEEDBACK ON A VISUOSPATIAL GAMIFIED TASK: An experimental study investigating learning, affective social engagement cues and cognitive learning strategies

    Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för tillämpad informationsteknologi

    Författare :Alva Markelius; Sofia Sjöberg; [2023-02-01]
    Nyckelord :Human-robot interaction; gamified memory task; dementia; differential outcome theory; Furhat; engagement; digitalised treatments; robot assistance;

    Sammanfattning : By combining Differential Outcome Training (DOT), the usage of unique stimulus-response pairings, and feedback from a humanoid simulated robot (SDK) this study aims to improve learning performance of subjects on a visuospatial gamified memory task. This is achieved by using the SDK as an interface for an algorithm that provides audiovisual, reinforcing feedback promoting engangement in a new dyadic setup for a gamified task. LÄS MER

  3. 3. LET’S LEVEL UP OUR COMMUNICATION A Study of Communication Challenges in Game Development Teams

    Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för tillämpad informationsteknologi

    Författare :Fina Blomberg; Louise Lind; [2023-02-01]
    Nyckelord :internal communication; multidisciplinary teams; game development; management;

    Sammanfattning : Video games are growing fast in popularity, and while gaming has been primarily an entertainment medium, educators have also realized its benefits as a learning tool. However, little research is done on the complexity of communication in game development projects, though studies of challenges in game development often men-tion communication problems causing delays, stress, and inefficiency.     Nyckelord :game-based learning; language learning; literacy;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decades, the video game medium has become increasingly popular-ized and technologically advanced. Consequently, the learning sciences have started to investigate the pedagogical potential of this medium. Literacy researchers have argued that unique features of the video game medium offer possibilities for effective language learning. LÄS MER

  5. 5. An Errors Analysis of Grammatical Errors in The Written Productions of Swedish Students in a Vocational High School

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / / Institutionen för sociologi och arbetsvetenskap

    Författare :Maryam Nezamabadi; [2023-02-01]
    Nyckelord :Error analysis; Verb errors; Common grammatical errors; English written productions; Grammar teaching; Second language learning; Errors based on word class categories;

    Sammanfattning : As an approach to spotting and analyzing students' errors, error analysis provides information that gives us a better understanding of students' knowledge of second language grammar, so we can offer them more effective teaching. This study is an error analysis that investigates the most common grammatical errors focusing on verbs, prepositions, articles, and pronouns in English writings produced by first-year high-school students at a vocational school in southern Sweden.
