  1. 1. Vacuum Chamber Adaptation for Low-Power Electric Propulsion Testing : Optimizing Anode Configuration and Electrical Interface for Hollow Cathode Testing, and Conceptualizing a Setup for Field Emission Electric Propulsion Testing

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Therese Bäckström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Electric Propulsion; Field Emission Electric Propulsion Testing; FEEP Testing; Thruster Testing; Heaterless Hollow Cathode Testing; HHCTesting; Cathode Testing; Anode Design; Anode Configuration; Electrical Interface; Elektrisk Framdrivning; Fältjonisationsframdrivningstestning; Framdrivningstestning; Värmelös Hålkatodstestning; Katodtestning; Anoddesign; Anodkonfiguration; Elektriskt Gränssnitt;

    Sammanfattning : Electric Propulsion (EP) is widely acknowledged as a crucial technology for future space missions, offering significant propellant savings and enabling exploration of planetary missions with smaller spacecraft (s/c). For precise attitude control of these smaller spacecraft, Field Emission Electric Propulsion (FEEP) has emerged as a favorable option due to its exceptional thrust controllability. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Using Machine Learning to Optimize Near-Earth Object Sighting Data at the Golden Ears Observatory

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Laura Murphy; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Near-Earth Object Detection; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Visual Transformers;

    Sammanfattning : This research project focuses on improving Near-Earth Object (NEO) detection using advanced machine learning techniques, particularly Vision Transformers (ViTs). The study addresses challenges such as noise, limited data, and class imbalance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The development of a Hardware-in-the-Loop test setup for event-based vision near-space space objects.

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Författare :Rik van den Boogaard; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Camera optics; Event-based camera; HASTE; Hardware-in-the-Loop testbench; Harris corners; KLT; Asteroid; Frame-based camera; Near-space objects; Planetary exploration; Space-simulated conditions;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis work was to develop a Hardware-in-the-Loop imaging setup that enables experimenting with an event-based and frame-based camera under simulated space conditions. The generated data sets were used to compare visual navigation algorithms in terms of an event-based and frame-based feature detection and tracking algorithm. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Skyline Delineation for Localization in Occluded Environments : Improved Skyline Delineation using Environmental Context from Deep Learning-based Semantic Segmentation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Kyle William Coble; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Skyline delineation; Skyline detection; Semantic segmentation; Terrain based navigation; Digital elevation models; Uncrewed surface vessel; Planetary exploration robots; Horisont avgränsning; Horisont upptäckt; Semantisk segmentering; Terrängbaserad navigering; Digitala höjdmodeller; Obemannat ytfartyg; Planetariska utforskningsrobotar;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the problem of improving the delineation of skylines, also referred to as skyline detection, in occluded and challenging environments where existing skyline delineation methods may struggle or fail. Delineated skylines can be used in monocular camera localization methods by comparing delineated skylines to digital elevation model data to estimate a position based on known terrain. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Something's Growing On...

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/HDK-Valand - Högskolan för konst och design

    Författare :Julianna Litkei; [2022-05-27]
    Nyckelord :Children´s books; Antropomorphism; Other-than-humans; Embracing nature;

    Sammanfattning : he ‘Something’s growing on…’ project explores how a picture book for children can celebrate and highlight the complexity and importance of nature and its unseen microcosms. It is a designinitiated attempt to evoke awareness and appreciation for the other-than-human worlds — and through this, to address the anthropocentric view of our times. LÄS MER
