  1. 1. Robust Non-Linear State Estimation for Underwater Acoustic Localization : Expanding on Gaussian Mixture Methods

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Diogo Antunes; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Robust state estimation; Underwater localization; Target tracking; Gaussian mixture; AUV; Estimação robusta de estado; Localização subaquática; Rastreamento de alvos; Mistura Gaussiana; AUV; Robust tillståndsuppskattning; Undervattenslokalisering; Målspårning; Gaussisk blandning; AUV;

    Sammanfattning : Robust state estimation solutions must deal with faulty measurements, called outliers, and unknown data associations, which lead to multiple feasible hypotheses. Take, for instance, the scenario of tracking two indistinguishable targets based on position measurements, where each measurement could refer to either of the targets or even be a faulty reading. 2. 2. Here Comes the Sun: Imagination, Development, and Technology in Malawi

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för etnologi

    Författare :Catarina Santos; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Applied Cultural Analysis; Development; Energy access; Imagination; Malawi; Solar technology; Technology.; Cultural Sciences; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This paper explores how electrical appliances, together with the idea of attaining energy access in the near future, create hope in a northern village in Malawi. Even though less than one per cent of the rural population has energy access, some of these locals already own solar systems. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Is the Federal Reserve Causing Funds to Underperform? A causal machine learning analysis

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Statistiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Willian Trindade Leite; Oliver Serenhov; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Causal inference; actively managed funds; passively managed funds; gradient boosting; double machine learning; Business and Economics;

    Sammanfattning : Macroeconomic conditions heavily influence financial markets, and the leading corpus of theory in the field lays out some general principles observed by investors and asset managers alike. However, while the theory is sound, it is hard to measure how much effect these conditions have. LÄS MER

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Juridiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Juridiska fakulteten

    Författare :Liliana Picchi Cappuccelli; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Mining; gold; Indigenous Peoples; Brazilian Amazon; Indigenous lands; sustainable development; Law and Political Science;

    Sammanfattning : The present study seeks to understand the impacts of mining on Indigenous Peoples’ rights in the Brazilian Amazon. For this purpose, after an introduction of the context of mining historically, socially, and geographically in Brazil, a framework of Indigenous Peoples’ rights is described, and each right analyzed separately. 5. 5. Naming Injustice, Reimagining Justice: How Victim-Survivors of Sexual Violence in Portugal Perceive Criminal Justice and its Alternatives

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Rättssociologiska institutionen

    Författare :Juliana Rafaela Martins Vasconcelos Senra; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Sexual Violence; Restorative Justice; Criminal Justice; Gender-based Violence; Access to Justice; Bourdieu; Portugal.; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the sexual violence justice gap in Portugal descriptively by questioning how victim-survivors of these crimes experience and/or perceive criminal justice, including those that have resorted to formal law and those that haven’t Normatively, it reflects on the justice needs of victim-survivors of sexual violence and connects these needs to the restorative justice movement - an umbrella term for non-carceral responses to sexual violence, including inputs from feminism, abolitionism and social harm theory. It thus aims to explore innovative survivor-centered justice models and draft policy recommendations specific to the Portuguese context. LÄS MER
