11. Implementation and Comparative Analysis of Head-Related and Binaural Room Impulse Response in a Mid-Side Decomposition
Master-uppsats, KTH/Teknisk akustikSammanfattning : This thesis aimed to clarify the essential factors involved in externalising audio over headphones. Extensive research was conducted, examining binaural cues and the latest advancements in the field. A novel approach was proposed, which applied HRIRs and BRIRs on a Mid-Side decomposition. LÄS MER
12. Recording Bass-Cabinet: Microphone Choice and Microphone Placement
Kandidat-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för ekonomi, teknik, konst och samhälleSammanfattning : Research on microphone choice and placement has been previously made for a variety of instruments, such as drums, vocals, and guitar, to name a few. However, in comparison, very little research has been made on the bass-cabinet. LÄS MER
13. Detection of insurance fraud using NLP and ML
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistikSammanfattning : Machine-Learning can sometimes see things we as humans can not. In this thesis we evaluated three different Natural Language Procces-techniques: BERT, word2vec and linguistic analysis (UDPipe), on their performance in detecting insurance fraud based on transcribed audio from phone calls (referred to as audio data) and written text (referred to as text-form data), related to insurance claims. 14. Audibility & Preference of DA Overload Associated with True Peak : Investigation of claims made against overload prevention
Kandidat-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Musik, medier och teaterSammanfattning : The conversion of audio from the digital to analog domain has the potential to result in distortion due to converter overload. This occurs because some peaks in the signal cannot be defined digitally and only become problematic during the conversion into the analog domain, exceeding the level that can be represented by the converter, causing it to overload. 15. Spectromorphological Reductions : Exploring and developing approaches for sound-based notation of live electronics
Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Musik, medier och teaterSammanfattning : In this master’s thesis, a sound-based notation system is explored and developed in the composition and performance of a musical work for live electronics. My approach builds on existing systems for electroacoustic music analysis, most notably Dennis Smalley’s (1997) theory of spectromorphology and the symbolic language of Lasse Thoresen & Andreas Hedman (2007) based on Pierre Schaeffer’s typo-morphology, as well as Mattias Sköld’s (2023) adaptation of this system for composition and transcription (Sound Notation).
